Within the framework of Erasmus+ HybridTim project first intensive learning course for students took place in Vienna from 5 – 16 September, 2021.

Students were represented from 5 universities across Europe: Riga Technical University (Latvia), VIA University College (Denmark), Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain) and Vienna University of Technology (Austria). Each university were represented also by lecturers, who ensured lectures and consultations for students throughout intensive course. Riga Technical University was represented by Dipl.ing., Mg.oec. Janis Zvirgzdins and MBA Girts Zarins.

Students gained following benefits from intensive course:

• increased specific and trans-disciplinary knowledge about hybrid timber design and construction;
• increased awareness about environment-friendly materials and sustainable construction;
• increased practical experience in wooden industry;
• obtained better comprehension of current industrial requirements and working conditions;
• increased inter-cultural awareness and tolerance;
• improved solidarity, teamwork, communication, cooperation, creative thinking and problem solving skills;
• improved English language skills.
