The main goals of the Institute:

  • To ensure the implementation of ICEREE study programmes, as well as ensure high-quality study process at other RTU programmes;
  • To carry out scientific and research activities in the following areas: sustainable development issues in construction economics, urban environment, real estate economics, as well as engineering economics and management; scientific and technological innovation transfer in the business environment; national socio-economic development issues; human capital and its role in today’s economy at the national and regional levels; Latvian polycentric development problems; urban economics etc.

The administration and academic staff of the Institute take an active part in the international scientific journal editorial boards and international conference organising committees. Since 2013, the Institute of Civil Engineering and Real Estate Economics has been issuing the Baltic Journal of Real Estate Economics and Construction Management.
