Scientific objective of the project
To conduct research and develop highly effective technologies for the manufacturing of special nano-structured protective coatings for aviation and aerospace products, with engineering and economic assessment of efficient use of energy and natural resources in order to improve the international competitiveness of newly developed technologies. Planned research is interdisciplinary, as it will promote the development of Mechanical Engineering and Transport sectors in accordance with the two priority scientific directions at the national level.

The project applicant is Riga Technical University (RTU). The project was implemented by the Institute of Aeronautics and the Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Transport and Aeronautics, the Scientific Laboratory of Powder Materials of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Institute of Civil Engineering and Real Estate Economics of the Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management, as well as the Institute of Physical Energetics.
The new research conducted by the ICEREE scientists is related to the use of energy and natural resources for the assessment of engineering and economic efficiency in the field of nanotechnology and the improvement of the international competitiveness of newly developed technologies. The young scientists outlined the main results of the research and put forward scientific theses for analytical assessment of multifunctional nano-coating technology project, socio-economic and institutional-ecological substantiation for the introduction and application of new technologies and the development of multifunctional nano-coating technologies for the competitiveness assessment.
