Establishment of the national significance research centre for production of energy and environmental resources, and technology of sustainable use

The scientific activity of the Institute of Civil Engineering and Real Estate Economics in the ERDF project “Establishment of the National Significance Research Centre for Production of Energy and Environmental Resources, and Technology of Sustainable Use” corresponds to the priorities set by the state in civil engineering, power engineering, real estate and related fields. Responsible person from the Institute of Civil Engineering and Real Estate Economics – Professor Ineta Geipele. As a result of the project, a new modern scientific infrastructure for the ICEREE research laboratory has been created. Scientific areas of the ICEREE research laboratory are related to the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the energy and environmental resources, the nature of their changes and the identification of trends in the context of sustainable use.

Deutsche bundesstiftung umwelt (dbu) programme

In the autumn semester of 2016, Doctoral student Linda Kauškale, whose scientific adviser is Professor Ineta Geipele, conducted research within the project “Economic and Environmental Substantiation of Investments in Green Buildings”. Linda won the DBU Exchange Programme Scholarship which allowed conducting scientific research in Germany from 22 August 2016 to 28 February 2017. More information HERE

Baltic land development network (BLDN)

During the project, in cooperation with the European Academy of Land Use and Development, the participants of the network used mobility visits, participated in working groups and drew up joint international project applications, including ERA-NET, HERA-JRP, Interreg BSR, Jean Monet, H2020, as well as wrote joint scientific publications that were published in scientific journals and conference proceedings. Associate Professor of the ICEREE Armands Auziņš participated in the project. Project time – from 2 September 2015 to 24 May 2016.

Master, Bachelor and first-level professional higher education programmes implemented by the Institute of Civil Engineering and Real Estate Economics of the Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management of Riga Technical University ensure internationally competitive high-quality scientific research, higher education, transfer of technology and innovations, as well as educate and train competitive and high-quality specialists demanded in the international labour market who are specialising in construction business and real estate management, business management and valuation, and working not only in the regional market, but also in the international market.

Under the guidance of professional academic staff members, Doctoral Theses are developed and defended, as well as Doctoral Theses related to the issues of real estate, construction, territorial development and urban planning.

In the 2015/2016 academic year, according to the Eduniversal Best Masters Ranking the Master Professional Study Program “Civil Construction and Real Estate Management” ranked 35th among the 100 best study programmes in real estate all over the world.

A person engaged in real estate transactions – engineering-economic valuation, management and administration, attraction of investments, etc. – should be competent in all issues related to the property administrative management, maintenance, use, valuation, accounting and other types of calculations, regulatory compliance, housing, tax, labour law, commercial activity – performance of contractual obligations, by ensuring the provision of utilities, execution of lease, rent, insurance contracts, physical management of property – development of real estate, renovation and maintenance of the apartment, house, land.
